add-apt-repository: command not found- How to fix on Elementary OS?

Recently, I was trying to add a repository to my Elementary OS but to my surprise, I got an error.

The following is the command that I tried running on the elementary OS terminal.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mpstark/elementary-tweaks-daily

The error I got was,

sudo: add-apt-repository: command not found

How to fix?

To use add-repository function, you need to install software properties common. Kindly execute the following commands on the terminal.

$ sudo apt-get install software-properties-common

$ sudo apt-get update

After executing the above commands on the terminal, try using the add-repository command and you won't face any errors.
