After the release of the Ubuntu 18.04, the team canonical removed the Suspend button from the power menu. The Power menu now contains the “Settings, Lock Screen & Shut Down” button. As we said earlier, the new version of Ubuntu misses the Suspend button on the power menu as shown in the below image.

The simple trick to enable the Suspend Button on your Ubuntu PC is that you need to open the “Power Menu” from the top Gnome toolbar and you need press and hold down the left ALT key on your keyboard, the Power button will convert into Suspend button. Kindly refer to the below video.

This is an alternate way to enable the Suspend button with the help of Gnome Extension.

  • You need to download the “Suspend Button Gnome Extension” from the official website
  • Download the zip file and extract on your Ubuntu
  • Now copy the location of the folder and open the terminal
  • Type the command “cd” & append the address of the folder and execute it
