Install VLC Media Player on Fedora 31 – Using Terminal:

There are different ways to install this media player on Fedora 31. We can either use dnf package manager or snap package manager. Here, we will explain both the methods.

Method 1 – Install VLC using DNF Package Manager:

Execute the following commands on the Terminal one by one to install this media player on your Fedora. During the installation process, you will be asked for the confirmation to press [y/N], you have to press y to progress the installation.

$
sudo dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm
$
sudo dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm
$
sudo dnf install vlc

After the installation, the application can be accessed from Show Applications.

Method 2 – Install this Media player app using Snap package manager:

This is the alternate method to install this application on Fedora. Kindly follow the below steps.

Go to the Terminal on your Fedora 31 and execute the following command to install this application.

$
sudo snap install vlc

Remove/Uninstall VLC Media Player App from Fedora 31:

1) Remove this application installed from dnf package manager:

$
sudo dnf remove vlc

2) Uninstall this app installed from Snap Package Manager:

$
sudo snap remove vlc
