oxy-SVG Ubuntu: Boxy-SVG is a graphical editor that allows users to create beautiful illustrations directly from their browser. It is a multiplatform application and works perfectly with Mac, Windows, Linux or Chrome computer. The abbreviation of SVG is Scalable Vector Graphics. The boxy-svg project goal is to create the best SVG editor for non-technical users as well as for professional designers and developers.

Install Boxy SVG on Ubuntu 19.04/18.04.2 LTS- Using Terminal:

Follow the below steps in order to install the Boxy-SVG Ubuntu via terminal. Launch the terminal using shortcut key CTRL+ALT+T and type the following command in the terminal.

$sudo snap install boxy-svg

The terminal will ask you for a password, provide your user account password to proceed with the installation process of Boxy-SVG Ubuntu.

Note: The installation may take 10 seconds as it completely depends on your Internet speed. If you wish you can find your internet speed by using our Internet speed test tool.

Install Boxy-SVG on Ubuntu using Ubuntu Software-GUI:

Note: Ubuntu 16.04 and Higher Versions get Ubuntu Software pre-installed which can be used to install a number of applications through GUI
  1. Go to All Applications(Show Applications on Disco Dingo).
  2. Locate Ubuntu Software and open it.
  3. Click on the Search symbol of Ubuntu Software. A Search box will appear.

  4. Search for Boxy-SVG. Once you find the app, Click on that.

  5. Choose to Install and kindly wait for the installation to complete.

  6. Once done, you can Launch the Boxy-SVG Application.

Launching Boxy-SVG Ubuntu:

Using the below two methods the Boxy-SVG Ubuntu can be launched.

  • Launch via terminal
  • Launch via all apps menu

Launch the terminal using shortcut key CTRL+ALT+T and type the following command in the terminal.

The command will be executed and the Boxy-SVG Ubuntu will be launched automatically.

Launching Boxy-SVG Ubuntu via the All apps menu:

Click on the all apps menu icon in your Ubuntu desktop. Type the keyword “boxy-svg” so that it will be displayed below. Go ahead and choose the Boxy-SVG icon so that it will be launched automatically.

Removing Boxy-SVG Ubuntu:

Follow the below steps in order to remove the Boxy-SVG via terminal. Launch the terminal using shortcut key CTRL+ALT+T and type the following command in the terminal:

$sudo snap remove boxy-svg

The terminal will ask you for a password, provide your user account password to complete the removal process of Boxy-SVG Ubuntu.
