Note: Snappy is pre-installed on Ubuntu 16.04 and Higher Versions and however, it can be installed using sudo apt install snapd

It is easy to install Nextcloud using Snappy Package Manager. The following are the steps. These steps are also applicable for other Ubuntu-based distros such as Linux Mint, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, and more.

  • Open Terminal using the shortcut CTRL + ALT + T.
  • On the terminal, execute the following command to install Nextcloud on your Linux Ubuntu and Ubuntu-based Distros. Enter your system password when prompted to authenticate the installation process.
$sudo snap install nextcloud

  • The above command will install Nextcloud on your PC. After the installation, you can access it from Show Applications.

How to Install Nextcloud on Ubuntu using Ubuntu Software- GUI:

This is an alternate method to install the Nextcloud Ubuntu. We will use Ubuntu Software to install the application. Simply click on the following button to open the installation page on your Ubuntu Software.

Remove/Uninstall Nextcloud from Linux Ubuntu:

If you wish to remove or uninstall this application from Linux Ubuntu 18.04 LTS/ 19.10, and from other Ubuntu-based distros, then execute the following command on the terminal.

$sudo snap remove nextcloud
