A simple command to view installed packages in Ubuntu!

iew Installed Packages in Ubuntu Linux: It is so difficult to remember the apps installed in our Ubuntu PC. You can find some default apps from Ubuntu Store. In this tutorial, we added the commands to view Installed APT Apps & Packages on your Ubuntu PC.

The command to View Installed APT packages on Ubuntu :

It is very easy to view all installed APT packages on Ubuntu. Copy the below command and execute it to view the installed apps in the terminal.

$sudo apt list --installed

View Installed apps from the Ubuntu Store:

This is an alternate way to view the installed apps with the help of the Ubuntu store. Follow the steps below:

  • Open Ubuntu Store application

  • Now go to the Installed Apps section

  • You can find the apps that installed in your Ubuntu pc
  • You can remove apps from the Ubuntu store.

This is how you can view the installed apps from the Ubuntu store on your Ubuntu PC.

Store Installed apps list as a Text file:

How to store the installed apps list as a text file in Ubuntu? Use the below command to do:

$dpkg -l |awk '/^[hi]i/{print $2}' > Installed_apps.txt
  • Open the terminal and execute the command

  • The text file will be created on your home directory with the list of Installed apps

This is how you can use the command dpkg -l |awk ‘/^[hi]i/{print $2}’ > Installed_apps.txt to print the installed apps list as the text file in the Ubuntu PC.
